RCB have made a fine start to their new era with the Faf du Plessis-led side clinching two wins from their three games so far. The franchise will now look to build momentum and will be further strengthened by the arrival of Glenn Maxwell, who will slot into the middle order. The Australian had a fine season last time out, top-scoring for the franchise with 500 runs, and RCB will hope for similar returns starting from Saturday.
Maxwell will likely slot in for Sherfane Rutherford, with the hard-hitting West Indian failing to make a mark in the three games so far. David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga and Faf du Plessis should make up the other foreigners in the side. Josh Hazlewood is still unavailable, with the Australian pacer taking a break after a prolonged injury during the Australia vs Pakistan series.

What other changes RCB could make? RCB’s start to the season means that Du Plessis will hardly have to tinker with his playing combination. The captain himself has been amongst the runs, while Dinesh Karthik’s form down the order has been a massive plus for the side. The likes of Shahbaz Ahmed and Anuj Rawat have also chipped in with cameos with the bat, with the former scoring a match-winning 45 against the Rajasthan Royals.
With the ball, Akash Deep is the only weak link, but RCB are set to persist with the Bengal pacer, who has shown glimpses of his potential but has been expensive nonetheless. Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel have the led bowling attack superbly with consistent performances, while David Willey and Mohammed Siraj continue to be the powerplay enforcers for the side.
