About Tristan Stubbs

Tristan Stubbs born on 14 August 2000 is a South African cricketer. He made his international debut for the 50 over South Africa cricket team in June 2022 and the Test team in January 2024. In the IPL, Stubbs is representing the five-time IPL champs Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, he has also participated in several franchise-based leagues around the world. 

Career

Domestic Career

Stubbs made his first-class debut on 16 January 2020, for Eastern Province in the 2019–20 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup. Later on, he made his List A debut on 16 February 2020, for Eastern Province in the 2019–20 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge. He also made his Twenty20 debut on 21 February 2021, for Warriors in the 2020–21 CSA T20 Challenge. In April 2021, he was named in Eastern Province’s squad, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa.

International Career

In March 2023, Stubbs was named in South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against West Indies. He made his ODI debut in the second ODI of the series on 18 March 2023. Stubbs made his Test debut against India in January 2024. He became the first player in 127 years to be dismissed twice on the first day of his Test debut.

IPL Career

 In franchise cricket, Tristan Stubbs has really attracted some suitors, as he has already played for Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Jaffna Kings and Manchester Originals. Stubbs is also an integral part of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape franchise, the team that won the inaugural SA20 title. In IPL, Stubbs has played four matches and scored 27 runs so far. However, his numbers are expected to grow once he gets regular chances in the cash-rich league.
