Tim David Career Highlights 

– Tim David, renowned for his big-hitting abilities in the BBL, initially played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2021, featuring in just one match.

– Ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, David attracted bids from six franchises, ultimately signing with Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 8.25 crore.

– In his debut season with MI, David showcased his talent with an impressive strike rate of 216.28, highlighted by a blistering 46 off 18 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Career 

Domestic career 

Tim David debuted in Twenty20 cricket for Perth Scorchers during the 2017–18 Big Bash League (BBL) season before joining Hobart Hurricanes for the 2020–21 BBL season, where he made a memorable start with a game-changing 58 runs in the opening match. He ventured into the Pakistan Super League (PSL), representing Lahore Qalandars in 2021 and Multan Sultans in subsequent seasons. David also showcased his talents in European leagues, participating in the Hoofdklasse tournament in the Netherlands and later signing with Surrey County Cricket Club for the 2021 T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup. He made headlines by being drafted by Southern Brave for The Hundred’s inaugural season and later signed by Lancashire County Cricket Club for the 2022 T20 Blast. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), David made history as the first international player from Singapore, featuring initially for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021 and later for Mumbai Indians in 2022. Additionally, he was acquired by MI New York for the 2023 Major League Cricket in the USA.

International career 

In July 2019, Tim David was selected for the Singapore cricket team’s training squad in preparation for the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier tournament. Subsequently, he earned a spot in Singapore’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the same tournament. David made his T20I debut against Qatar on 22 July 2019. Later in September 2019, he was included in Singapore’s squad for the 2019 Malaysia Cricket World Cup Challenge League A tournament, where he made his List A debut against Qatar and emerged as the leading run-scorer with 369 runs in five matches. In October 2019, David was named in Singapore’s squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the United Arab Emirates, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) identifying him as the player to watch. 

In 2022, David was selected for the Australian national cricket team’s squad for the 2022 World Cup and their series against India. Despite previously representing Singapore, he was eligible to play for Australia under ICC regulations. He made his T20I debut for Australia against India on 20 September 2022 and showcased his talent by scoring 54 runs off 27 balls in a match against India in Hyderabad.

In his ODI career overview, Tim David has played four matches, batting in as many innings without remaining not out. He has accumulated a total of 45 runs, with a highest score of 35 at an average of 11.25. 

T20 International Career 

In his T20I career spanning from 2019 to 2024, Tim David has featured in a total of 39 matches, batting in 36 innings, of which he remained not out on 9 occasions. Throughout this period, he has amassed 1062 runs, with an unbeaten highest score of 92 runs, averaging an impressive 39.33.
