The weekend kicks off with a day game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans, in which two maverick all-rounders Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya will face off. The newcomers have been the in-form team this season topping the table with 5 wins and could close in on a playoffs berth with another victory. As for Kolkata, Shreyas Iver’s side has hit a rut losing three straight games and will be aiming to bounce back in style.

In the evening clash, Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Southern derby. RCB have found form this season and are amongst the top four teams while Kane Williamson and Co.boast of the best winning streak having won four on the trot. Mumbai Indians have had a forgettable campaign so far but there still remains a mathematical possibility of Rohit Sharma’s side making the playoffs. The five-time champions are the 1st team to lose 7 games in a row and a defeat will knock them out of contention for the IPL 2022 playoffs. They face newcomers Lucknow Super Giants, with KL Rahul having scored a century in the game against MI earlier this season. One can expect a run-fest, especially with Mumbai returning to their home ground Wankhede.
