The IPL 2022 Auction is expected to be a massive bonanza and Australian stars seem to be the pick of the roost after as many as 47 players were shortlisted for the main event, set to be held on February 12-13. David Warner, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins headline the players’ list, with many BBL stars including the likes of Hayden Kerr, Ben McDermott and Matthew Short also making the cut. Marcus Stoinis, who was part of the T20 World Cup win, has already been retained by the Lucknow SuperGiants.
IPL 2022 Auction: West Indies stars have always been in demand in franchise leagues across the globe and as many as 34 specialists have been shortlisted in the auction. While veteran Dwayne Bravo headlines as one of the IPL legends, the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder, Odean Smith and Rovman Powell all could find bids in their name in two weeks’ time.

IPL 2022 Auction: South Africa, who agonisingly missed out on the T20 World Cup semis and handed India a chastening series defeat last month, have seen 33 players shortlisted, with Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada and Quinton de Kock being one of the 10 marquees in the auction. IPL veterans David Miller, Imran Tahir have also registered alongside U19 superstar Dewald Brevis.

IPL 2022 Auction: England will also have a sizeable contingent present in the auction, despite a host of pull outs including Joe Root and Ben Stokes. Jofra Archer has shockingly made himself available at the very last minute, having been out of action for over a year with an elbow injury. Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan, Mark Wood and Jason Roy headline the English contingent, while Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler was retained by the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
Trent Boult finds himself in the marquee list and will headline the New Zealanders shortlisted, alongside Devon Conway, who enters his first IPL auction. Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Daryl Mitchell are some of the other stars available for grabs.
