Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, currently recovering from an ankle injury, made a rare public appearance alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the inauguration of the Gandhinagar Premier League on Monday.
This rare appearance marked Hardik Pandya first since the 2023 World Cup, where he sustained the injury. After becoming Mumbai Indians captain, this was also his first appearance in public. Union Home Minister Shah expressed confidence that the league, played across constituencies in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha area, will foster sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s nationwide “Parliamentarian Sports Competition.”

During Hardik Pandya recovery, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma stepped up as captains for the Indian T20I team.
