Rishabh Pant is all set to return to cricket after 15 months in the IPL 2024 season. However, the Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper’s comeback is not without question. The 26-year-old had suffered a major ligament tear after his accident in December 2022. Following his surgery, questions over the star’s fitness and possible return were raised. Giving it his all, Rishabh Pant is ready for a blockbuster comeback in March. To prepare for his comeback, the southpaw underwent treatment last month in London, and with the league coming closer, he has decided to play a warm-up match. The wicketkeeper batter has been practicing in Alur, in what is his first proper match since his accident. But, unfortunately for Pant, the Capitals, and his fans, the wicketkeeper batter from Delhi will not don the ‘big gloves’ in the IPL 2024 season. According to a report by Cricbuzz, sources in the BCCI and the DC have confirmed that Pant will not be their designated wicketkeeper but will lead the side. The batter has regained his mobility, stamina, and agility, but the BCCI doesn’t want to risk anything, so Pant will refrain from keeping the wickets for the time being. The 26-year-old is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA and will most likely join the Capitals training camp for the IPL 2024 next month.
