East Bengal head coach Carles Cuadrat has labelled his side as the underdogs for the Kolkata Derby. Contrary to Mohun Bagan, the Red and Gold Brigade are undergoing a poor run of form. The Kolkata Derby is extremely crucial for the hosts who now have the final chance to remain alive in their pursuit for the top 6 of ISL Points Table.
East Bengal are currently placed 10th on the Points Table with 18 points from equal games. The Red and Gold will be desperate for their maiden derby win in ISL. While they had their fair share of wins in the Durand Cup and the Super Cup, but a win against the arch rivals in ISL has eluded Cuadrat and his boys.

“Yes, I think we are underdogs for the game we see the performance of the two clubs. But I have belief on my players. My players train well and give their best in the field. We have a good record against Mohun Bagan. Apart from the Durand Cup final, we have won two matches against them,” said Carles Cuadrat in the Pre match press conference.
East Bengal will target 3 points at costs for the big match. A win will keep them in contention to fight for the ISL playoffs. On the other hand, a win for Mohun Bagan will take them to the top spot in the ISL Points Table.
“My players are very motivated. It’s going to be a very good game. We have gotten very good results so far in the Kolkata derbies held this season,” Carles Cuadrat concluded.
