The Drama regarding the Kolkata Derby continues yet again. After East Bengal’s unsportsmanlike behaviour of unequal ticket prices, Mohun Bagan have boycotted the Derby. Mohun Bagan have released an official statement condemning the shameful behaviour from their arch rivals.
East Bengal the other day came under fire after after releasing unequal Kolkata Derby ticket prices. InsideSport, previously confirmed that Mohun Bagan were deeply disappointed regarding the matter.
Mohun Bagan’s General Secretary Debashis Dutta released the official statement regarding the boycott call.
Mohun Bagan’s Official Statement –
This disgraceful behaviour of East Bengal Club has brought the game into disrepute and hurt the sentiment of our countless members and supporters who we regard as the foundation and pillars of our club. Under the circumstances, we unequivocally condemn the unsportsmanlike behaviour of East Bengal and have decided that we will neither buy nor sell any tickets of the derby match of ISL between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal Club which is scheduled on 10th March 2024 at VYBK.
This communication may be treated as an official boycott call of the upcoming derby from our side.
The Mariners have made it clear that the club won’t buy nor sell any tickets for the Kolkata Derby. The Green and Maroon brigade as a result have requested the fans to abstain from buying tickets. This is the way how Mohun Bagan are boycotting the derby.
