IPL 2022: Ravindra Jadeja ‘STRUGGLING’, Captaincy pressure destroys his personal form, is he MISFIT to lead CSK?
Where is Ravindra Jadeja? Be it Jadeja the batsman or a bowler – the World’s No. 1 allrounder is so unusual him this IPL. Leave the batting & bowling, Jadeja’s fielding also has gone for a toss this IPL.
Lesser said about Jadeja as a captain is better. Fans, experts have already started questioning whether CSK has made a mistake by making Jadeja as Dhoni’s successor?
Jadeja’s batting failures –Ravindra Jadeja has not been convincing at all with the bat. In the first match against KKR, he played 28 deliveries but could score only 26 runs at a strike rate of less than 100. The CSK skipper scored 17 runs in the second game against Lucknow Super Giants, while he was dismissed for a duck against Punjab Kings.

Bowling gone for a toss –
While there have been previous occasions where Jadeja has failed to deliver as a batter, bowling has always been his forte. However, he has scalped only one wicket so far in this tournament. He went wicketless against KKR and LSG, while he did get one scalp in the last match against PBKS, the CSK skipper still conceded more than 8 runs per over.

Unimpressive captaincy
Jadeja has not looked too convincing as a captain either, specifically in terms of his bowling changes. The one particular decision which received backlash was the decision to give Shivam Dube the ball in the 19th over against Lucknow, which effectively cost CSK two crucial points.
Jadeja resigning mid-way, MS becoming captain and CSK making a MI-esque comeback. Who says no

Captaincy pressure takes a toll on Jadeja’s form – Hence, it is very evident that the pressure of leading the defending champions has taken a toll on Jadeja. The 33-year-old all-rounder needs to get back to his best if CSK want to win matches, but with the enormous expectations from the fanbase of a four-time title-winning team, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to bounce back as a section of fans are already demanding MS Dhoni to return to captaincy once again.
